The Five Great Truths

of Uncle Bob

1.  It takes exactly this long to get this far.

Forget accusations of procrastination, regrets over missed opportunities, the stress of goal-setting schedules.  Each day is a precise intersection of what you are, what you know, who you are and the unique energies of this moment in the Universe.  If you show up a day sooner for now, you won’t know enough or be enough to handle the situation properly.  Accept the internal pacing that drives your life and don’t force it.  When you can’t find your car keys, you could be avoiding a wreck.

2.  Life is expensive, but it’s still the best bargain in town.

Quit whining and pay the tab.  Whether it be in dollars, hours, obligations, or soul-wrenching contributions to the mundane, pay up and be glad for the opportunity.

3.  Don’t blame God if you don’t get the joke.

If you’re not laughing every day—I mean the sweet hilarity of kind laughter—then  you’ve missed the whole point of existence.

4.  Life is a process; not a product.

The only way you ever get all your work done is to be dead.  Relax and enjoy this day’s contribution to Infinity.

5.  Inhale blessing; exhale love.

Out of all the random scatter and scorching ruin of celestial creation—here we are, dwelling in this garden that is Earth.  Every breath you take is a blessing.  Share it.

Bonus Truth (A summing of sorts)

Life presents us with varying challenges. In confronting these matters mortal, mystical, and monetary, we must accept that, for the most part, we humans will do as much as we need to do and as little as we can get away with.
